Andrew - Guitar, Bass, Trumpet & Tenor Horn
Moving from Glasgow to Aberdeen, Andrew has spent the last 4 years studying Music and is now in his final year of Community Music (Hons) at the University of Aberdeen.
Andrew is a Bass player and has lots of experience playing other instruments, such as the trumpet and guitar. As well as this, he is currently working on a self-produced album which he plans to release later this year.
Andrew has been performing for over 11 years, from school concerts to touring the UK with his band, Counterfall and performing in 2019’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Andrew has a wide variety of experience when it comes to community music work and has been running a sensory music class for babies called Bairns Beats.
Andrew is also already involved within the Academy as he is the Musical Director for AEA Productions as well as helping at Saturday School.
David - Drums, Percussion & DJ
David is a First Class BMus Community Music graduate from the University of Aberdeen and is now undertaking a Masters of Music. He has experience working with young children, teenagers, all the way up to adults.
David has been playing drum kit from a young age, and has achieved Grade 8 with distinction. As such, he is confident teaching complete beginners, and also those who are studying all the way up to Grade 8. He is also trained in orchestral percussion - such as snare and timpani - and 4 mallet keyboard percussion.
He has experience playing nearly all genres, and in many different types of ensembles, such as: percussion ensembles, jazz ensembles, bands, session recording, brass bands, orchestras, musical theatre productions.
David is a music producer with both vinyl and digital releases, as well as being an award winning contemporary composer. David works with solo artists and bands as a producer and recording engineer. He also runs a record label and artist collective.
David also has a history teaching both composition and DJing - so look out for some mini-DJ workshops!
George - Voice & Brass
George is a first study singer and vocal coach. He is currently a Community Music student in his final year at The University of Aberdeen. He has been singing in choirs and solo performances for 11 years. Previous theatre roles have included Freddy in 'My Fair Lady' and Will in American Idiot'.
George is also the musical director for The University of Aberdeen Show Choir & Giz Giz Youth Theatre and has worked with primary school children in various musical settings.
